Step 1: Lie flat on the floor on a yoga mat.

Step 2: Fold legs at your knees.

Step 3: Bring knees close to your chest.

Step 4: Hold your knee caps with both palms. While holding the knees with palms, make sure your fingers face the feet.

Step 5: Inhale straightening your arms and take legs away from you. Bring legs close to you as you exhale.

Step 6: You need to continue with the breathing and knee movement pattern for about a minute or two according to your convenience.

Step 7: Move your legs away from body and perform a side twist with folded knees. Do it once to your right and then to your left.

Step 8: Straighten your legs while keeping hands by your side. The palms should face downwards.

Step 9: Breathe normally.


The asana is highly effective for growing longer stronger hair. To practise this exercise, you need to follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1:Lie down on the floor on your back placing your hands the side. The palms should face downwards.

Step 2: Slowly lift your legs and keep it at right angle to the floor.

Step 3: Continue lifting your legs further as you bend it backwards over your head. Do this in a fashion that your toes touch the ground beyond your head.

Step 4: Press your chin against your throat.

Step 5: Support your back with your elbows on the ground. This will help you stay in the position for a long time.

Step 6: Breathe normally.

Step 7: Return to your original position.

Bhastrika Pranayama

Regular practise will stop grating of hair. Your hair will grow black and longer. It is also very helpful in controlling hair fall. This exercise should be avoided by those suffering from heart disease or high blood pressure. To practise this exercise, you need to follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Sit comfortably on a yoga mat in padmasana.

Step 2: Keep your hands on your knees.

Step 3: Breathe normally and feel relaxed.

Step 4: Inhale deeply through your nostrils with full force. Do this until your lungs are filled with air.

Step 5: Exhale forcefully through nostrils. You must make a hissing sound till you have breathed out all of the air and empty your lungs completely.

Step 6: Repeat for another 10-15 times.

Note: – When performing Bhastrika Pranayama, make sure your abdomen doesn’t contract or blow up. Only use your chest.

Bhramari Pranayama

Step 1: Sit on a yoga mat or a soft blanket. Breathe and straighten your spine. Relax.

Step 2: Breathe in deeply filling your lungs with sufficient air.

Step 3: With both the thumbs, close your ears.

Step 4: Close your eyes and using the middle fingers and press your eyes lightly.

Step 5: Press either sides of your forehead with the index fingers.

Step 6: Using the remaining fingers, press the sides of the bridge of your nose.

Step 7: Exhale through your nose and make a humming sound while chanting OM mentally. You don’t need to make much effort in inhaling as it will occur automatically.

Step 8: Perform this exercise minimum 11 or maximum 21 times according to your comfort level.
